Very good post. Good idea regarding TED lectures.
Specifically, regarding the Sarah Kay lecture:
She has very good lecturing skills due to:
a) She plays with her voice (tone and speed), and flows with it (no "ahhmm")
b) Good and flowing gestures that actually represent the metaphors she's currently talking about

However, this specific lecture wears you down - too many metaphors, too little content.

@Imri: Just ask anybody who hasn't lived in the "Center" who came to live there for a few years and they feel it strongly as well .

@benny: I have heard from a doctor who lived in Modi'in that she claimed (I have nothing but her word on it, but it seems sound) that it is a well known fact that the percentage of kids in Modiin that have asthma is relatively high because the soot from Tel-Aviv and that area blows in from the sea and gets 'stuck' climbing the mountain to Jerusalem causing a lot of it to sit on Modiin.

First of all, congrats on your first personal blog post :)
Second, this photo was taken after I cleaned the surrounding floor, which was covered with disgusting black soot residues.
Well, at least we don't live in Haifa anymore.

I feel the pollution every time my asthema kicks in. I'm pretty sure there's a direct correlation between the number of asthema cases in israel and the quality of the air we're breathing.
